2013 Skipton RUFC Hospitality Day Success

On Saturday 30th November The Shepherd Partnership was pleased to once again sponsor a Skipton RUFC match, this year against Goole.

Just short of 50 clients, staff, and friends and associates gathered at Skipton RUFC clubhouse for an afternoon of rugby, pie & peas, beer, and good company.

Director Adam Dutton looks forward to this now-annual sponsorship event. He said, “We always have such a good day at the rugby. We work mostly via ‘phone and email with lots of people, and it’s great to have them all in one room, enjoying our hospitality and networking with each other. We like to give something back.”

The guests were full of praise for the efforts made:

“…a very enjoyable day – and evening spent in very good company…” – Chris Cundall, A J Hird Insurance Consultants

“…thank you for inviting me to Skipton Rugby club ….I had a great afternoon despite the result. Would you also pass on my thanks to the partners of the Shepherd Partnership for organising this event.” – Ian Hall, New Laithe Farm butchers

“ Thanks for hosting James and I on Saturday afternoon. The score wasn’t quite what we were looking for but I had a good time.” – Paul Davison CTA, FCCA, PD Tax Consultants

Sadly, the game didn’t go as well as the events in the clubhouse, with the score ending up at 3-50 to the away team. There’s a review of the match here, but let us warn you it’s not pretty….unless you’re a Goole fan, of course!

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and better luck next time Skipton.

Skipton Rugby Match Sponsorship: Shepherds ‘do it right’

For the second year running The Shepherd Partnership have sponsored a match at Skipton Rugby Club. On Saturday 20th October over 50 local businesses and Shepherd Partnership staff congregated at the club for an afternoon of pies, peas, beer, and good company against a backdrop of rugby.

It was once again an incredibly successful afternoon, with many attendees reporting that they had relished the opportunity to meet up with both familiar and unfamiliar faces.

The Shepherd Partnership was also praised for its good organisation, warm hospitality, and for supporting the local club through sponsorship.

Here are some of the comments received since the event took place:

‘…thanks for the excellent afternoon we enjoyed at the Rugby Club on Saturday.’ – Chris Windle, Windle Beech Winthrop Limited

‘…a most enjoyable afternoon and your hospitality was much appreciated.’ – Justin Birch, QualitySolicitors Mewies

‘…the Shepherd Partnership sponsored match is without doubt one of the best held at Skipton Rugby Club because you do it right. It is well organised and you get a good crowd down which creates a good atmosphere.’ – Simon Smith, Windle Beech Winthrop Limited

‘Good beer – good pies – good company!’ – Mike Vincent, Fresh Partnership Limited

‘Thank you all for a most enjoyable afternoon in Skipton.’ – Peter & Maeve Rock, Modern Equipment Limited

With such a great crowd and friendly atmosphere, it was easy to believe that nothing could go wrong at the Club that day. In truth there was one negative to report – the score….

Better luck next time!

New Local Rugby Team Sponsorship Deal

The Shepherd Partnership Sponsors Local Rugby Team

We our proud to announce an exciting new sponsorship deal – with the Wharfedale RUFC under-12’s team. The sponsorship came at a crucial time for the team as they recently embarked on a major tour, representing Wharfedale across the north of England. Thanks to sponsorship from Shepherds and Dales Cab Company the boys looked the part in a brand new kit!

The tour kicked off with a win against Morpeth Rugby Club, closely followed by a change of venue and another victory against Berwick. The last matches of the tour took place at Tyneside Festival, where the boys played a different seven-a-side game and sadly this marked the end of their winning streak.

Overall however, the tour was a great success and a fantastic experience for everyone involved. As well as the players themselves, around 20 parents/ coaches took part in the tour, and a great time was had by all.

Adam Dutton, Director at the Shepherd Partnership comments “The boys did a great job. They looked great in the new shirts and they did Wharfedale proud. We are delighted to be able to support them.”
