Braving The Shave!!

One of our team members, Gillian, is soon to be ‘Braving the Shave’ to fundraise for MacMillan Cancer Support!!

Gillian is raising funds and awareness for this very worthy cause in memory of her best friend, Sara Barker, and another friend’s husband, Grahame Booth – both of whom lost their battles with cancer.

The shave is taking place on Saturday 12th October – and we’ll be sure to share the ‘after’ pictures as soon as possible!

The pic above shows Gillian’s current hairstyle (lots of long hair) – so the shave will be a dramatic – and rather cold – change as we head into the winter months!

2013 Skipton RUFC Hospitality Day Success

On Saturday 30th November The Shepherd Partnership was pleased to once again sponsor a Skipton RUFC match, this year against Goole.

Just short of 50 clients, staff, and friends and associates gathered at Skipton RUFC clubhouse for an afternoon of rugby, pie & peas, beer, and good company.

Director Adam Dutton looks forward to this now-annual sponsorship event. He said, “We always have such a good day at the rugby. We work mostly via ‘phone and email with lots of people, and it’s great to have them all in one room, enjoying our hospitality and networking with each other. We like to give something back.”

Guests mingling with staff at the Skipton RUFC clubhouse

The guests were full of praise for the efforts made:

“…a very enjoyable day – and evening spent in very good company…” – Chris Cundall, A J Hird Insurance Consultants

“…thank you for inviting me to Skipton Rugby club ….I had a great afternoon despite the result. Would you also pass on my thanks to the partners of the Shepherd Partnership for organising this event.” – Ian Hall, New Laithe Farm butchers

“ Thanks for hosting James and I on Saturday afternoon. The score wasn’t quite what we were looking for but I had a good time.” – Paul Davison CTA, FCCA, PD Tax Consultants

Sadly, the game didn’t go as well as the events in the clubhouse, with the score ending up at 3-50 to the away team. There’s a review of the match here, but let us warn you it’s not pretty….unless you’re a Goole fan, of course!

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and better luck next time Skipton.

Details of Our Third FREE Annual Business Seminar

The Shepherd Partnership Business Seminar 2011

Due to the success of the event over the past 2 years, we are delighted to announce details of our 3rd successive free business seminar.  This year’s event will take place on the morning of  Thursday 28th March 2013 at The Tempest Arms – An award-winning venue in Elslack.

In addition to the main presentation stream delegates will have opportunities to network over complimentary bacon rolls and tea/ coffee. There will also be the opportunity to ‘ask the experts’ any specific questions you might have.

This is a great opportunity to join the local business community and learn something new within just a few short hours – all for free!

A Special ‘Office Warming’ Invitation for Settle Businesses

We are delighted to a announce that our Settle office will shortly be moving premises. To mark the change of address we are inviting our Settle clients to a special lunch time ‘office-warming’ event to celebrate this exciting move and we would like to extend that invitation to any other local businesses that would like to join us on the day!

The event will take place on Tuesday 5th March, between 12-2pm, in the new office at:

Unit 10B, Commercial Yard, SETTLE BD24 9RH.

As a guest you can enjoy complimentary sparkling wine and nibbles, speak to our team, and network with other local businesses.

Director Adam Dutton believes this move is a positive one for everyone. He comments:

“Admittedly visiting the accountants isn’t usually something a business owner particularly relishes! However, by offering a comfortable working environment for staff and a pleasant meeting space, we feel we can both add value and make the whole experience that bit more enjoyable for our clients”

We hope that you will consider joining us on the 5th March, and please feel free to bring a business colleague with you. For further information or to register your interest in attending please call 01729 823950 or email
